Ever wanted to be transformed into a talking bum? Considered a satisfying life in the glamorous world of celebrity journalism , but don't have the contacts? Planned a daring escape from a death cult? No? ...Well, err...

Word Salad is a collection of outrageous short stories, some funny, some not (on purpose) from author Gareth Perkins.

Praise for Word Salad

I read it on one fevered Sunday afternoon and can't help but think it took something from me I'll never get back.
Ravi Redlightly, The Dainty Reader

This is the best collection of short stories I've ever read in my life. Honest.
H. Qerkins, The Short Story digest

Needed more vampires that aren't transvestites.
Burney Gosoon, Daily Fix

Hot knife through butter, candy from a baby, and of course, pie; reading Word Salad was as easy and enjoyable as all these things, yet better, because, let's face it, heating knives is a time consuming pain, babies never have quality candy, and pie, well, it just ain't like momma used to make.

I've read a lot of short stories. You could call me a short story reader. There are so many out there that I start and just can't wait to finish. Luckily, they're short. I'm not gonna name names, Roald Dahl (stick to children's stories!); however, Word Salad is universally opposite to the locally similar. Get it? Got it. Good. When reading Word Salad, I didn't want any of the stories to end, and when I did inevitably reach the end of each story, I wanted more. I still want more.

Great read... Highly recommend!

If hanging out in a Tokyo pub with Jack Kerouak, Franz Kafka, Steven King, and Haruki Murakami - listening to them spin tales, sounds amusing to you - you will love this collection of short stories.

Gareth Perkins has done a splendid job of conjuring up these interesting, macabre and sardonic scenarios.

I am waiting in eager anticipation of the novel length continuation of "I will swim under".

I'm looking forward to reading his new book, "Tokyo Magic", which I just bought.
